Bella Barnum Collier
Bella has been a part of the local dance community ever since she took her first ballet class here, at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts in 1998. Since then she has pursued a passion for dance by training with studios across the valley, traveling to conventions and receiving instruction from stand out names like Denise Wall, Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels, Travis Wall, tWitch Boss and more. Her original choreography has been featured in the Center’s annual showcases, winter festivals, and student showcases since 2010.
A Colorado Mountain College Theatre graduate, Bella shares an equal love of Acting and Musical Theater. She has been seen in various shows, most recently in the role of “Tzeitel” in Defiance Community Player’s production of Fiddler On the Roof. Her choreography has also been featured in Theater Productions up and down the valley, most notably in Colorado Mountain Colleges production of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Glenwood Springs High School’s production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Defiance Community Player’s You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.
It doesn’t take much to see Bella’s love, and commitment to her teaching and performing. This passion for her art has come together to support her most recent role as Director of Competitive Dance at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts. With the support of her incredible choreographers she oversees a group of dedicated dancers ages (5 to 18) who aspire to take their dance careers to the next level. Her team travels to 3+ competitions and conventions yearly, and has consistently placed amongst National Competitors. Her ultimate goal is to build the local community of competitive dance and put Glenwood Springs, Colorado on the map as a producer of poised, professional dancers who can hold their own in the performing arts industry.
In her spare time, Bella enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, rock climbing, hiking, whitewater rafting, and curling up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.
