Christina Brusig is an advocate for the arts and a true community builder. A professional dancer, choreographer, business woman, coach, teacher and consultant, Christina finds joy in helping people reach their goals and work for the greatest good of the community. Christina was the Assistant Director of the Center for the Arts for seven years, while also working with dancers of all ages and skill levels, musicians and theatre groups to help advance the mission of the Center for the Arts throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Many would consider Christina to be the force of action behind the inception of the Glenwood Springs Summer of Music Series in 2011. Now in it’s 5th season, the Summer of Music at Two Rivers Park has grown to be the Center’s most successful community based program. Christina was also the founder of the Glenwood Springs High School Dance Team in 2010, and the Center for the Arts award winning Competitive Dance Team in 2012. Both of these programs have grown since then, giving Christina and other choreographers state wide and national acclaim. Christina greatly enjoys community based collaboration and volunteering and has helped the Glenwood Springs High School Theatre Department with musical productions since 2009. A cum laude graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent and an Alumni of Roaring Fork Leadership, Christina values education, collaboration and the power of connection. Since becoming the Executive Director of the Center, new programs like “Painting Pages” at Glenwood Springs Library and “Fine Arts Friday” at the Two Rivers Community School have come to life. Please read the “Art Scene” in the Post Independent each Friday to stay informed with everything we are doing at the Center for the Arts.
